KASHMIR REAL ROCK CLIMBING

Rock Climbing is the fastest growing adventure sport in the world, and luckily for us, Kashmir Treks is one of the few agencies to through open this loving sport for travelers. Climbing indoors is great! But there comes a time when the thrill of climbing on real rock, outside, begins to lure you! And this is where Gangabal Futmut Rock, Climbing and Trek Expedition tour comes in!The trek follows Naranag-Gangabal-Trail. The aim is to test your personal limits as you hike up and top rope climb the cliffs of Futmut Rock in Gangabal Valley! With spectacular views of the Himalayas, Nundkol Lake, and the Mt Haramukh, it’s a high energy adventure. Your fully qualified and experienced guide will teach you the safest form of climbing there is and impart knowledge, such as rock identification, belaying, equipment selection and equipment checking! Not only are our guides excellent climbing instructors, but they are a dab hand of getting those awesome insta shots whilst you’re scaling the face, of all which you will receive for FREE!

The site of rock climbing Futmut Pal or the split-boulder at Gangabal Lake can be reached by hiking or horse ride up from Naranag or by doing a multi-day Great Lakes Trek from Sonamarg. The spot lies above the northeastern shores of scenic Nundkol Lake adjacent to the Gangabal Lake. The boulder’s solid rock is excellent for a first ever climbing experience, and with 5142 meters Mount Haramukh rising nearby, its even an awesome photo spot!
